'Remember Me?' by Sophie Kinsella

I finished a book! I think the last book I read from cover-to-cover was a guide book about Walt Disney World, and that was a few years ago!

Today, on the train journey back from London, I finished 'Remember Me?' by Sophie Kinsella. James said I should do reviews of the books I read, but I don't think I'd be very good at it. So, all I'll say is I enjoyed it and it was definitely something light to get me started on my mission to read 20 books/all the books I already own.

I've started off a reading list to record all that I've read and am currently reading.

070. Collect 101 WDW postcards (5/101)

I've received my first Postcards! Thank you to Claire, aka Pinky166 from DISBoards for sending my first four postcards. My fifth postcard received today was from Jared at Show Me The Pins - I sent a few pins for his Mickey Mouse pin project and Jared kindly sent me a lovely vintage postcard from WDW.

Here are the cards I received today!

All postcards will be scanned, front and back, then added to this page. Do you want to send me my next card to add to that page?

032. Frame and display more Disney pins

I spotted some white frames in Clas Ohlson that would be perfect for framing more of my Disney pins. I have almost 200 pins and the majority of them are currently in boxes and I've only frame a few Stitch pins so far. I wanted to display more of my pins around the house, so picked out those white frames for my office/computer room.

New Pin Frame 090111 This is my new frame! I was sat on the floor in the living room making it while we had the NFL on. I have a lot of Stitch pins in my collection, that is my collection pretty much apart from a few extras. But, I don't have enough of a particular theme to fill a frame this size (8x10in), so I went with some random/favourite pins I have and a good mixture of open edition, lanyard and limited edition pins. On Flickr I've tagged each of the pins with their Pin Pics number and edition size.

I have a smaller frame (5x7in) for some more pins, that might have to be a Mickey and Minnie frame next time! I will post pics of more frames when they're made.

026. Make 101 Disney pin trades (13/101)

I got two more pin trades in the post in the last two days. It also looks like international mail is finally arriving in the USA as well, I sent 9 trades on December 11 - today saw the first one of them arrive! I hope the others aren't too far behind.

I had some more pins to pack up tonight, so I thought I'd show you how I package up the pins I'm trading away. It's easy, just four easy steps!
026-060111

one.

It all starts with a padded envelope, bubble wrap and the relevant postage stickers - in most cases I need Airmail and Customs stickers, I add a little Disney just because.

two.

Trim the bubble wrap to size and secure the pins so that they're not going to get damaged.

three.

Secure everything with tape and add a little note as a thank you for trading.

four.

Address the envelope, sticker and seal! All ready to go! ♥

062. Save £100 a month (£100/£3300)

It's so tempting to cancel this standing order, but for the first month? No, I'll leave it and if I'm really desperate come the end of the month I'll put the money back into my account and start again in February! Apparently we get a bonus in our January pay, but I'm not betting on it - I never should. It's only January 4th and I have no money - I seem to have hemorrhaged money over the Christmas break, it's not good.

I've got to start saving sometime, especially if I want to meet this guy again!

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

This 'A Day In The Life' was inspired by a project at sh1ft.org - we were asked to record our New Year's Eve, and/or New Year's Day, in 24 photos or less.

This is my January 1st 2011.

My day began just after 9am when I naturally woke up. I dragged myself downstairs to the kitchen and started my day with a photo of our IKEA kitchen clock!

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

After a little TV flicking and catch up with the news, it was breakfast time. My all time favourite cereal? Squares! They're a little like Weetabix, but bad for you with a chocolate filling. Yum.

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

More TV, then it was time to get out of my PJs and into some more normal clothes. A day spent at home can only mean comfy clothes, so t-shirt, leggings and cute slippers!

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

Seems like I've only just had breakfast, but I'm hungry - so nibbles for lunch. We bought these to snack on for New Year's Eve but after too many chocolates and ice cream we couldn't manage anything else.

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

It's almost time to go back to work, which means we have to think about boring stuff like washing our clothes! No tumble dryer (yet) and cold weather means they have to dry naturally on clothes airers. Tedious! My parents are buying us a tumble dryer, I cannot wait!

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

Online fun time with chocolate coins. I was expecting the silver ones to have white chocolate in them.....

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

My new printer arrived last week, but we were waiting on the shelves first! We set up the wireless for the printer and tested it out - very impressed!

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

With the shelves assembled and the printer set up in it's new home, my desk was looking a state - it needed some TLC! Tidy time.

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

Tidying the desk meant moving stuff around and giving things new places to live, if only temporary. My shelves are starting to look good with my cute stuff!

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

After dinner it was shopping/browsing for homewares and other cute things to put in my nice and tidy office. I especially love all the amazing things on Not On The High Street.

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

My mind moves on to buying curtains instead of coasters, so I measure the window - what a struggle! I am far too short and the tape measure hates me.

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

I get distracted away from curtains to pretty shoes! Ooooh, new season for clothes - but I have no money!

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

Getting back on track and moving away from my fantasy wardrobe, I meant to print off an application form for a PO Box while still at work, but now I have my new printer I can do it at home! I'm setting up a PO Box for my 101 WDW postcard project as well as to take part in Postcrossing.

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

I've taken a lot of photos, so I start to sort through them on the computer - a lot of them are trash!

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

It's been a while since dinner and at 11pm, I'm not really ready for bed. So, it's snack time and my choice is mince pies with cream - yes, having two is necessary!

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

To finish off the day, at midnight I'm playing The Sims 3. We bought a new laptop on Boxing Day, since then I've been hooked on playing this game, the expansion packs I've got have made it so great and so addictive. I ended up playing this until 2am, while James plays Modern Warfare 2 - it's too loud and violent, I prefer my game!

A Day In The Life - January 1st 2011

This ends my day, at 2am we head off to bed and vow to get back to a more reasonable bedtime for the next few days, it's back to work on Tuesday.

035. My shelves arrived!

035-010111

My new IKEA Expedit shelves arrived yesterday morning! The delivery men were here at 08:40, so it's a good job we set our alarm to come on at 08:30 - our delivery slot as 09:00-12:00, we weren't expecting them to arrive so early!

James assembled them, with some help from me! I can't wait to fill them up and get them organised, I'm just waiting on some storage boxes to be delivered from an eBay seller and I'm good to go! For now, the mess that needs to be organised is in the spare room.

Happy New Year 2011!
